Children at North Nibley are taught to read well and a far greater percentage reach the age-related expectation than across the county as a whole. Figures released by the Local Authority show that just over 61% of 6135 children scored the number of marks required by the Government in last May’s new Phonics test. At North Nibley just over 82% were deemed to be working at, or over, the required level.
What an amazing season! Our Cross-country runners were in fine form for the final race of the season, and after all the results were collated and crunched, we were over the moon to find we had retained the Small Schools shield for the 5th consecutive year. A surprise visit from our Comenius partners from Spain! They were in the area (Cardiff!) and wanted to say hello. They were particularly impressed with our calm working atmosphere. We wished them well in Euro 2012!
