MATHS STARS!
I have just seen the most exciting Maths session! Children from Class 3 demonstrated their skills with Times Table Rock Stars, the new resource we have been able to provide from Year 2 upwards. In an AWESOME display of mathematical recall and fluency one year 3 child completed 81 calculations in 60 seconds, with only 1 error! The software allows for live results to be displayed on the big screens at the front of the class, and plenty of the children were cheering their classmates on. We also get to see how we compare to other local schools, so it’s going to get competitive! Children will be able to use this resource in ‘Maths Passport time’ but obviously any additional time at home spend perfecting their tables will result in improved progress overall, and better understanding of division and fractions.
