SIAMS – Church School Inspection

CHURCH SCHOOL (SIAMS) INSPECTION May 2014

Against the 4 core questions inspected, the following judgements were made;

How well does the school, through its distinctive Christian character, meet the needs of all learners? Good
What is the impact of Collective Worship on the school community? Good
What is the effectiveness of Religious Education? Satisfactory
What is the effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school? Satisfactory

Overall this resulted in a satisfactory grading, though the report also uses the word “Outstanding” to describe relationships between children (well done, children!). The R.E. lessons observed were also judged as “Good”. The report identifies areas for us to work on and in my view this is an accurate assessment of the school at this time. I was disappointed that no mention was made of the constraints we currently face, nor the plans we already have to improve matters in the Autumn, when some of these restraints will lift. My thanks goes out to the parents and governors who gave their voice to the inspection process.
