So close! Our Wildlife Quiz team came second in the COUNTY QUIZ final this week – by a single point! The team battled hard, drawing on their considerable knowledge of animals and plants, but they lost out to Chalford Hill Primary. The team said “The questions were very hard.” “I was very pleased with how we did.”. “Some of the specimens this time were especially hard.” “From the start I had a feeling we might come second, and we did!” So the ‘runners up’ owl returns to our school, having been on display here in 2009 and 2011. Well done team, well done supporters and well done to Mrs Meyer and Mrs Bailey for all their help.
On Friday last week the whole school (including a good number of staff) braved the drizzle and completed a mile as part of Gloucestershire Daily Mile’s BIG DAY challenge. Approximately 24,000 children took part! Actually, the weather was fairly good since we managed to catch a gap just after lunch. The children were very pleased…

On Wednesday 25th the children from Class 4 spent 25 minutes talking to children and teachers from Bulgaria. The children exchanged questions about their favourite foods, sport, pop music and clubs. They also showed their art work to one another. This work is being carried out in 10 schools across Europe.
The school had invited a visiting teacher to hold a Diwali workshop with some of the children. Catriona said “We got to learn about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, by acting out the story. Isabella added “It was a lot of fun. We did lots of things including a Diwali dance.
